Local Tavern Nightly Tournaments
Playing in Local Tavern Nightly Tournaments:
All you do is enroll as a new player at the Tavern
of your choice. You may play at more than one tavern.
Your points from multilpe taverns may be combined to redeem award points
for merchandise but not to qualify for Regional or Annual PLay offs.
You may also combine the points of your "significant other" to redeem
award points for merchandise.
Once enrolled you may play at any Hosting
Tavern. You will receive a Player name. When you enroll
at a new tavern the tavern number will be added to your existing player
name. So you might be Bob Jones at the first Tavern and Bob Jones
12 at another tavern.
It is really helpful if you have an E-mail address. You may get
a free E-mail address from places like Hot Mail. If you need help
with this contact us.
There are 13 weeks in each quarter. The first 12 weeks of the
quarter are for playing the normal nightly Tournaments. Points are
assigned to the top 20 finishers according to the following schedule:

Local Tavern Quarterly Championship
Tournament:
The 13th week in each quarter is reserved for
1. Qualifying Tournament
2. Tavern Quarterly Championship Tournament
The Local Tavern Quarterly Championship Qualifier and Championship
Tournament are played WITHIN the quarter, NOT the week following the
quarter. This is critical since the quarterly points are re-set to
zero during the final week of the quarter. It is too late to enter
any more nightly points after points are re-set.
Qualifying for Local Tavern Quarterlies:
The top ten point leaders for the current quarter automatically qualify for entry into the Local
Quarterly Championship Tournaments.
For those who do not make the top ten in points a QUALIFYING
tournament is held.
This qualifier may be held on a night prior to the Championship
Tournament or the same night as the Championship tournament, depending
on the number of players involved. The Tournament Director decides
how this will be handeled at each tavern. The top 3 places in the Qualifier advance to the
Local Quarterly Tournament.
Qualifying in this manner gives less frequent or new players a chance to
win the Championship but they will have a SEVERE chip disadvantage.
It pays to play frequently.
How the starting chips for the
Local Tavern Championship are determined:
The starting chip count rewards the consistent players.
Our program is designed to reward regular players, consistent play
AND performance.
It always pays to play any and all tournaments you are qualified for
AND it always pays to finish well.
NO ONE IS EXCLUDED AND IT IS NEVER TOO LATE IN A SEASON TO
START. A player COULD walk in COLD the night of a Local
Quarterly, play in the qualifying tournament and get to play in the
Local Quarterly, The All League Quarterly, win them both and qualify
for the Annual Grand Championship and win that. THEY COULD but
it would be pretty hard because of the starting chip count.
ALL QUALIFIERS get the basic 5,000 starting chips in addition to their
bonus chips..
BONUS CHIPS:
The top ten cumulative points holders are exempt from having to play in
the Qualifying tournament and receive the most chips, according to their
standing. All top ten players also receive an attendence bonus of
500 bonus starting chips for each top 20 finish played in the quarter.
The following is an example only. The Top 20s Bonus will vary by
player. Assuming all players finished in the top 20 twice a week for all 12 weeks it
would look like this:
