More Qualifiers for larger Taverns.
Starting April 1, 2010 all taverns with a minimum of 30 players who have earned cumulative point totals of 25,000 or more will be allowed to send 3 qualifiers to the Annual Championships.  These qualifiers will receive bonus chips as 1st place qualifiers.
The reason for this is it is harder to qualify at the taverns with more players.  This new addition will even the playing field and incentivize players to add new members.

2011 Annual Grand Championship Tournament
NEW AWARDS!!!  Entry into Arizona State Championship, WSOP $1000 event package or $1,000 cash first prize $2,000 in all.

See eligibility for who qualifies and what the starting chip counts are.

As Tavern Poker League grows, more and more large prizes will be added.  With the money we save by hosting regional play-offs in the local areas, instead of one large tournament in Las Vegas,  we are able to provide these additional prizes.  This also keeps the revenue here in our local taverns.

Tavern Poker League will define regions each year  and hold elimination tournaments to qualify for the final Grand Championship.  With only a single region for the 2009-10 year the tournaments are combined and the 2nd place finisher will be awarded the Regional Championship Award.

Quarterly Tavern Championship Tournaments:

The regular season quarter has 12 weeks.
The following week is dedicated to the Tavern Quarterly Championship.
There are two ways to qualify for the Quarterly Tavern Championship game.
1. If you are one of the top ten point leaders at your tavern you are automatically qualified.
2. Finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the Qualifying tournament for players who are NOT in the top ten point ranking. The top ten in points at each tavern are exempt and do NOT play in the qualifying tournament.

Your Tournament Director will decide when the Qualifying and the Championship Tournaments are to be held at your Tavern. Of course the Qualifying Tournament must come first.
The Qualifying tournament is a normal tournament but the Championship Tournament will last longer than usual since there will be more starting chips in play.

Starting chips are posted on the Eligibility page of the website and are as follows:
Base Starting chips = 5,000 for all players

Bonus chips:
Top Ten Point Leaders receive 2,000 chips PLUS 500 chips for each rung of the ladder.
1st 7000
2nd 6500
3rd 6000
4th 5500
5th 5000
6th 4500
7th 4000
8th 3500
9th 3000
10th 2500

Non Top Ten qualifiers from the Qualifying Tournament receive:
1st, 2nd and 3rd, place, from the Qualifying Tournament receive 500 chips for each rung of this ladder.
1st 1500
2nd 1000
3rd 500

So the top point finisher receives 5,000 + 7,000 Bonus =12,000 starting chips

And the 3rd place Qualifying finisher receives 5000 + 500 Bonus = 5,500 starting chips.
